RESCHEDULED Bibliotherapy

RESCHEDULED Bibliotherapy Online

This session of bibliotherapy has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 30, 6:30 pm. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Register here for the Wednesday session: https://events.myscpl.ca/event/3828964

Bibliotherapy is a non-clinical, developmental intervention that promotes wellness and connection through guided reading. We use literature to spark discussion, conversation and reflection in small groups. Each group is led by a facilitator who reads poems, prose and other versions of the written word and participants then share their thoughts, feelings and interpretations of the material.  No preparation required. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome if space allows.

Hosted in partnership with Literacy Link Niagara.

Literacy Link Niagara was founded in 1992. As a non-profit learning network organization, we support adult education  (literacy and basic skills) programs to collaborate and improve skill development opportunities.

Literacy is about understanding and effectively using various skills. There is a literacy component to most key aspects of daily life— health, financial, and relational to name a few. Beyond reading, writing and math, literacy also includes essential skills such as communication, finding information, and time management.

Most, if not all, programs are free and accessible to any adult in Niagara. They offer many ways for adults to further their education, upgrade their employment and/or gain independence to achieve greater wellbeing.
